Tell Your Life’s Story in Micro-Moments (Writing Workshop, virtual)

A workshop for anyone who wants to write about their divorce but feels overwhelmed by the size of the story. Laura will help you find the one moment that opens the door — and show you how to turn a memory into a scene with shape, intention, and meaning. You’ll leave with a clear starting point and a short list of moments ready to write.

You don’t need to write the whole book; you need to find the right moment to start with.

Description:
Your divorce is not one story, it’s a hundred small ones — a conversation at the kitchen table, a drive alone, the first morning waking up in your new place. The big book, the memoir, the “someday I’ll write my book” — starts with one moment.

In this workshop, Laura walks you through the same process she used to break down her own divorce story — and the same approach she uses to coach women from rough memory to center stage at Ladies’ Night.
This is an introduction to memoir writing without calling it that. It’s for anyone who knows they have a story inside of them, but isn’t sure where to start.

What we’ll cover:

  • How to find the moment inside the bigger story
  • How to zoom in: turning a memory into a scene
  • How to know what you’re actually trying to say
  • General shape of these types of stories

Format: 2-hour interactive workshop

You’ll walk away with more direction than you walked in with, including a short list of exactly where to start.

This is for you if: You want to write about your life, but the whole thing feels too big. You want to own your story and tell it — you’re just not sure where the door is.

Take control of your life and shape

the future you always imagined.

Hey there, divorcée,

While I may not have the answers you desperately want, I have been where you’re at right now. I know how overwhelming everything feels right now. I know that you feel so alone and don’t know what to do.

Don’t worry, I got you.

When I was going through my separation and divorce, all I wanted to do was make the world stop moving so I could take a breath and try to believe that everything was going to be OK. (ugh!) That’s why I created this kit; to help you pause for a minute, remember that you are loved, and that you come first.

Included inside is an invitation to join the Dispatched Divorcée community—a membership in the most exclusive club none of us meant to join. Filled with support, resources, and programs to help you move from the hot mess of your divorce to figuring it out and finally arriving in the place that all seasoned divorcées talk about … when it’s finally better.

When you unbox your welcome kit, I hope it feels like you just received a hug from a friend—a friend who has been there and knows that you will get through it, too.

XO, Laura
