Retreats & Trips
For women in the in-between — no longer in the life they had, not yet in the life they’re building.
Offered exclusively to Dispatched Divorcée members, our retreats and trips create space to slow down, reconnect, and be witnessed through travel, experiences, and shared moments.
Thoughtful travel and shared experiences for women rebuilding life after divorce.
Our Retreat Philosophy
Dispatched Divorcée retreats are designed for women in the in-between chapter of life after divorce — a place to land, reconnect, and hear yourself again.
They’re not healing intensives, productivity bootcamps, or spiritual vacations. They’re intentional experiences built around rest, curiosity, adventure, beauty, and friendship — without pressure to rush or transform.
Our retreats, trips, and experiences invite women to step out of daily life long enough to remember who they are, and to form community through small, shared moments inside a bigger adventure.
Every retreat is guided by the same core beliefs:
- You’re not broken — you’re in-between
- Being witnessed changes everything
- The next chapter often begins with a conversation
At their heart, these retreats are opportunities to explore new places with new friends, and to experiment with different versions of yourself.

All of our retreats and trips are for members of our community.
Retreats aren’t an escape — they’re an entry point.
Upcoming Retreats & Trips
Basel Art Summer Camp (Switzerland)

June 16 to 20, 2026
This retreat joins Basel Art Summer Camp, an artists-in-residency program during Basel Art Week in Basel, Switzerland.
It’s an immersive program that brings together emerging artists (them!), collectors (some of us!), and art-curious people from around the world (that’s us too!).
I’ll be your host and take you through the Basel Art Summer Camp experience. We have a 6-bedroom dorm room reserved for our group of divorcées. The artists will be staying at the Hyve, too.
We’ll experience Basel Art Week as participants. And enter the contemporary art world in a way that feels accessible to us and one we can participate in.
Cummari Retreat (Sicily)

September 2026
“Cummari” is a Sicilian word steeped in ancient feminine tradition. In the Sicilian language, it describes a bond of female friendship that feels more like family. And that’s exactly what this retreat is all about.
Partnering with our bestie, Miche Titus, the founder of Cummari, a community whose home base is the island of Sicily.
We’ll explore things like feminine anthropology; see where the matriarchy was alive here; meet the community that is finding an identity, a home, on Sicily after divorcing whatever they were “supposed” to be doing.
Much like traditional divorcées.
A Gaijin Girl’s Tour (Tokyo)

October/November 2026
When I was 2 years out of my divorce, I was living and working in Tokyo. Hoping my ex- was stalking me on the internet and jealous of my life.
Inside, I was incredibly lonely and the shit I was ignoring after my divorce finally caught up with me.
It was when I was living in Tokyo that I found a therapist and found my girls. Girls who were also in a crossroads in their life. Girls who I could be completely myself with. (Here’s the full story.)
That’s what this retreat is about.
It’s omatonashi-style, me inviting you to see and experience the city that changed me. A place I consider to be one of my homes.
Our retreats are for members of the Dispatched Divorcée community.
There isn’t one experience that fits every woman in this chapter — there are different needs, energy levels, and moments in building a life after divorce. Some of us are ready to kiss strangers in bars. Some of us are ready to run away to a remote island.
What most of us want, though, is to do it in the safety of other people – a community of women who might be going through something similar.
Reclaim your story, rebuild your life.
Meet Your Host
Hi, I’m Laura
I created these retreats because I was once where you are now — in the in-between, needing time for reflection while the world was asking me to “bounce back.”
After years in survival mode, I was craving beauty, adventure, and friendship again. I found them when my work took me from the U.S. to Switzerland, and later to Tokyo, Japan. These places helped me remember who I was and how to trust myself again.
Now, on the other side of that chapter, I host these retreats to guide you through new experiences and places where you have permission to explore, play, and rebuild trust in yourself at your own pace, and in good company.
What you leave with:
- Clarity about who you’re becoming
- Confidence that comes from doing something courageous
- A community that extends beyond the trip
- Self-trust from making your own decisions
- Joy and the freedom of doing whatever you want
- Belonging, the antidote to divorce’s isolation
These retreats are one way our members gather in person and experience new places and new parts of themselves, together.
Please note: All retreats are exclusively for members of the Dispatched Divorcée community.
Our bags are packed, we're ready when you are.
